 ABOUT THIS SITE

This site is by and about a welfare-mom, but it is for everybody -- policy makers, single parents, low-income families of all make-ups, feminists, activists, and anyone who cares about policy and economics as they affect the little guy. I hope to convey that the employed, underemployed, and unemployed populations are simply many sides of the same coin. We should not allow ourselves to be pited against one another as a distraction. We need to work together for the good of our nation and our nation's children.

The most important underlying principle behind my message is that every child needs at least one parent to be accessable a significant portion of the time, regardless of how rich or poor that parent happens to be. In fact, because of the many problems that often exist for impoverished families, poor children are in even greater need of having parental supervision and guidance. This needs to be the primary focus of our national debate. Our focus has so-far been misdguided and this site attempts to redirect it..

In addition to original features on issues of the day, I am also providing special areas for children (KidSpace), parents (Parent's Place), and for job-seekers and entreprenuers (Resource Room). Come back often as I will be updating the site regularly.

About the author:

This site is being developed single-handedly by a mother on welfare (while the other hand is busy with a 15 month old). She earns no money for her efforts. Anyone who would like to sponsor this page or hire welfare-mom, please look over her miriad of talents and then contact her through e-mail. She desperately seeks a way to balance a steady paycheck and her parental responsibilities.
