The Death of Captain Bob
One scorching day Captain Bob was approaching the Mouser Army base. He was going to help the mice-soldiers fight intruder owls.
As he sailed the crystal-clear stream in a paper cup with a cannon inside, he saw an owl named Old Hoot. Thinking he was an intruder, Bob fired his cannon, which fired golden popcorn seeds.
The seeds conked Old Hoot on the head, making him cranky. Old Hoot saw Bob firing, he swooped down, grabbed Bob and flew very high.
Remembering his teeth, Bob gnawed on Old Hoot's feet, making him itch. Finally, Old Hoot couldn't stand it any more. He let go of Bob and let him plunge into the icy river.
Nearby, a salmon was swimming up stream. With its tail going swoosh, the fish slapped Bob onto the riverbank. Old Hoot swooped down and ate up Bob. Bob land in Old Hoot's stomach, and kept on punching the sides, giving Old Hoot a tummy ache. Finally, Old Hoot spat him up in a pellet.
One day later, a scientist found this pellet, wrapped it in foil and sold it to Mr. Ausby and 27 other pellets.
I, Ricky, glued Bob's bones to a board and to this day he lies there, trapped forever.

I pretend that I am a general of an army.
I feel the sun's flames burning against my face.
I touch a star.
I worry that the polar ice caps will melt.
I cry when my little brother bites me.
I am a talkative boy with my head burried in books.
I understand my little brother.
I say that all babies bite.
I dream of becoming an astronaut.
I try not to let others down.
I hope to get a college degree.
