The Rockers

A cult group that were the rivals of the Mods. Rockers were concerned more with motorbikes and leather clothes than the stylish fashions of the Mods. Early rockers were also called 'ton-up' boys because of their love of racing. It was linked to the rite of passing speeds of 100 miles per hour.

The favoured motorcycle brands to ride were Triumph, BSA and Norton, all companies based in England.

The rockers wore motorcycle related gear. Blue jeans were essential, as were engineer boots and leather jackets emblazoned with the motifs of their favourite motorcycle manufacturer.

The movements peak was in 1962-64.
