A Tribute to a Great Driver, Man, and Human Being. I never thought about it when he was alive. I never thought that he could die. I believe Dale Earnhart was the best driver of current racing and possibly not counting Richard Petty, a person most recognized as a racing icon, a legend before his untimely demise, the standard that all racers hoped to emulate. I was one of millions of enthusiasts who could not believe their eyes and ears. It was a stunning blow to racing. I will truly miss this amazing person.
