Chapter Sixty-four

“Jess please tell me I won’t have to watch you two be all lovey-dovey all night.” Caden rolled his eyes as they pulled away from Nick’s house.

“Of course you will Caden.” Erica smiled.

Aaron and Jess were holding hands and Jess had her head on Aaron’s shoulder, whispering in his ear occasionally as they drove. Erica and Caden were deep in conversation in the backseat within ten minutes. “Aaron, you know how I said I needed to talk to you?”

“Yep.”

“Well after the concert do you think we could go somewhere that we can be alone and just have Nick or A.J. take Caden home?”

“Sure babe,” Aaron kissed her forehead and hit the play button on his CD player.

“So many nights alone, without you by my side. I never knew what I was missing” Krystal’s voice commanded the attention of everyone in the car and it was suddenly silent as everyone took in the lyrics.

“Aaron, this is it.”

“What?”

“Our song Aaron. This is our song. It has to be.”

Aaron turned up the music. “God must have sent you to me!” Angel on my shoulder, you give me shelter. You give me love and affection, and every time I turn around you’re still right here. Angel, my angel. Oh, my dear.”

“You think?” Aaron brought her hand to his lips.

“Yeah, you’re my angel.” Jess kissed his cheek and sat back in her seat.
