Axe Rogue

Introduction

It was a windy, cool autumn day when the young rogue finally made her decision. She hated the Boarding School of the Sisters of the Sightless Eye. They were always forcing her to learn to use a bow, and she hated being told what to do. She thought that learning spells seemed cowardly, too.

As punishment for being rebellious, she would be sent out into the cold to chop firewood for the other rogue wannabes. She learned to swing a hatchet quite well. And then, on her 16th birthday, with small axe in hand, she ran away. Heading to the small town of tristram to proove her courage and proove the trainers wrong, the Axe Rogue begins her quest...

The mighty axe must regain it's prominence as the premier weapon! All axe wielders unite! You have nothing to lose but the cheesy bucklers of the ages dropped by Sir Garbage! Up the irons and have fun!

Rules

First things are obvious. ONLY axes are to be used. When first arriving, she sells her bow to Griswold and kicks enough monsters to death to collect enough gold and items to buy her first axe. No other weapon is ever held in her hands again.

Any weapon can be carried in inventory to town to sell for gold (except bows!), but she cannot equip other weapons at all. No item except an axe shall ever be held in the hands of this proud and stubborn hero.

Items

Weapons
For reading glasses in the weapon slot, you may only use axes. Reading glasses in other slots are not restricted.

Wanting to prove her strength, she will always try to swing a heavier axe. So, most level up points will go into strength in order to use better and better axes. Strength requirements on axes are 0 (Small Axe), 22 (Axe), 30 (Large Axe), 50 (Broad Axe), 65 (Battle Axe), and 80 (Great Axe). Though she maxes at 55, items to add at least 25 will be needed. She will always advance to the next heavier axe when it is available.

The Axe Rogue despises bows. She will never buy one, use one, or even carry one to town to sell. All bows are avoided. She won't even buy a bow for another player. Bows are for sissies! If you're gonna fight, do it face to face!

Spells

Fire Spells
Trained in chopping firewood, a firewall reminds her of the warm fire she would feed on cold winter days. (Firewall is allowed.) However, a spreading fire is dangerous. Stacked firewood catching fire may get out of control, so any moving fire spell is not allowed: Flame Wave, Elemental, Fireball, Firebolt, Guardian. She'll use Inferno to toast marshmallows. (Hehehe)

Lightning Spells
Striking from the heavens above, hitting firewood, starting fires; lightning is very dangerous. No lightning is allowed, especially that wildly erratic chain lightning!

Magic Spells
Magic doesn't start fires, so damaging magic spells are allowed.
Cutting oneself with a razor-sharp axe does happen, so Healing and Heal other are allowed.
Golem can carry in a load of firewood while you chop more, so golem is allowed.
Other non-damaging Magic Spells are fine except for Stone Curse.

What about stone curse? No self respecting lover of a good quality axe blade would EVER bang their blade upon a rock! They won't even have rocks near the chopping block. Just look at the fine edge on that broad axe... Who could stand to ruin it? So no stone curse is allowed.

But there is one exception... and you guessed it. If one finds the Stone Cleaver axe, one can learn and use the Stone Curse spell, but not before this unique axe is found. It cannot be obtained as a gift; the Axe Rogue must earn it. More on this in the quest section.

Quests

1) Butchery!
Kill the Butcher! This fat red teletubby has given axes a bad name with his butcher's cleaver. Kill him.

2) Lazarus
Before you can start your stone cutting, you must kill that squirmy Lazarus with an axe. Only then can the Stone Cleaver can be used on a stoned monster.

Goal: Kill Lazarus with an axe and no Stone Curse.

Reward
Doing this will reward you with the Stone Cleaver's stone cleaving abilities. (i.e. You can smash statues when you use the Stone Cleaver to do so.)
