Introduction

It has always been told that there exists a magical firebird known as the Phoenix. While the Phoenix is by no means immortal, it has existed over the aeons and the passage of time. It's secret is to build it's own funeral pyre so that it may die by its own flame. But as the last Phoenix witnessed the awakening of Diablo, it determined that in order to combat this evil to better effeciency, it would need to rise from its ashes born as a human.

Rules

As you saw by my little prologue, in order to rise again, the Phoenix must die by it's own fire. That makes fire wall a numero uno priority. If you do not die in your own flame, you cannot be ressurected. (Being caught in the midst of a spell would suffice, it looks like you are in fire. This kind of creates a balance in classes. The warrior spends longer casting a spell, so has a better chance of dying in the middle of it, but the sorceror can get off a fire wall quick which is a guranteed res.)

Items

Fire resist equipment is treasured, no higher than 35% resists on magic and lightning.

Uniques

Allowed uniques are anything not of the lightning element (i.e. no Thundercall, Schaefer's Hammer, and that's right, no Stormshield [the name sounds too lightningy :)]. And NO Gotterdamerung, it sets fire resist to zero.

Inferno is a treasured item.

Spells

You are allowed all fire spells, chain lightning, any healing spells, teleport/phasing, town portal, stone curse, and golem.

Comments from Moriah

Please mention Flamedart for Diablo Rogues and Flambeau for HF Rogues/Bards. Dragon's Breach could be a good replacement shield, even with its (minor) drawbacks. What about the Constricting ring, slowly dying from the fires that still burn from within?

Not to mention Flaming stuff of whatever, even though they are only available from Wirt, IIRC.

Sorcerors might have some trouble without the Lightning based spells, how about allowing them to use Charged Bolt? Or do they have to behave as Muscle Mages and go statue whacking?
