As of April 30, 2004 the rink will no longer be open for public skating.. According to the article the center was sold to Bocky Lyons, of Gulf Breeze Land Co., who is leasing the rink to Emerald Coast Roller Hockey League.

The rink will be used for roller hockey and speed skating training...

It's always sad to lose a public skating rink. Skating is a great place to excercise and 'get your groove' on in a safe environment. I don't know the details as to why it closed to the public, if anyone knows please send me an email. I'd glady post whatever information I can gather.

I didn't frequent the rink too often, but my only complaints about the rink was the shape and the size of the rink. I wish them well and hopefully the Roller Hockey League will be a sucess.
