Sanjay Dutt heads back to jail
Actor Sanjay Dutt, convicted in the 1993 serial bomb blasts case, recieved a copy of the judgement from the TADA court on Monday and has been
subsequently taken into custody.
Dutt was out on interim bail till now and can now appeal to the Supreme Court for bail.
He has reportedly once again requested court to be allowed to speak to his daughter and sisters. With the courts going into Diwali break, Dutt may spend a week in jail before appealing to the SC.
The Bollywood actor is being taken to Arthur Road prison and will be sent to Pune jail later.
The Supreme Court had granted him bail on August 20 till the time he recieved a copy of the judgement.
Dutt was sentenced to six years of rigorous imprisonment on July 31 and spent a few weeks in Pune's Yerawada jail before being granted interim bail by the apex court.
The court has already handed over copies of the judgement, which runs into 4,340 pages to 13 convicts, including 10 who have been sentenced to death. (With PTI Inputs)
