You Took The Last Train to Micky's Page

Micky Dolenz
Born: March 8, 1945
Birthplace: Los Angeles, CA
Given Name: George Michael Dolenz
Siblings: Coco, Debbie, and Gina
Parents: George and Janelle

"As a child, Micky was exposed to acting through his parents, both of whom were Hollywood actors. From 1956 to 1958 Mickey Braddock (a stage name Dolenz used up until the airing of the Monkees episodes) starred as the orphan Corky in the television series Circus Boy. He later appeared in episodes of Playhouse 90, Mr. Novak, and Peyton Place. During his late teens, the multi-talented performer sang and played guitar at local nightclubs along Sunset Strip. He even recorded a couple of pre-Monkee solo recordings (released once the Monkees became famous). His family were very close and supportive and it was Micky's mother who took care of his monetary affairs during the Monkee years, leaving him financially secure once Monkee-mania had waned."

"After the band went their seperate ways, Micky guest-starred on a few TV shows such as Adam 12 and Cannon and auditioned for the role of Fonzie on Happy Days. Davy and Micky have performed together in the musicals The Point and The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. From 1977 to 1985, Micky lived in England, finding a new life directing films and television shows. His continued interest in music lead to several solo singles in the '70s and a children's record in 1991, Micky Dolenz Puts You To Sleep (Kid Rhino). In 1995, Micky returned to the stage, starring in the road version of Grease. The Dolenz family tradition of acting has entered its third generation with Micky's daughter Ami, a star in her own right."
