Can I join and not actually play a character? 
Anyone is welcome to join and read along, just as long as you don't cause trouble for everyone else. 

Do I have to audition to play? 
Yes. To audition, you pick either a show character that isn't being played by someone else, or create a character of your own.  You then submit a sample post to: bass@trnty.edu  Your post must tie-in to current continuity and fit in with the story. 

If your post is approved, it will be sent on to the entire list, and become part of the story, and then that character will be yours. 

What characters are available? 
Playable characters from the Jem show are: Jem/Jerrica, Kimber, Aja, Raya, Pizzazz, Roxy, Stormer, Jetta, Clash, Video, Danse, Rio, Riot, Rapture, Minx, and Eric Raymond. 

If you'd like to play a character from the cartoon not on the list, you may audition for that character as well. 

Who is the new purple-haired Hologram?
Amethyste. She was recruited as The Holograms' keyboard player when Kimber left to join The Misfits. But when Kimber returned, Amethyste stayed too. 

What's a post? 
A post is simply an entry into your character's life. Who did he/she meet?  What  did they do, etc.  The size can be anywhere from two paragraphs, to five pages, but try not to go longer than about two pages.  The post will detail what's going on in your character's life, and will be written from their perspective (the 1st person narrative). Once your character has been approved you send all posts to: likeadream@yahoogroups.com. 

Can I use other characters in my posts? 
Yes.  Unlike most role-play stories, in Like A Dream you can involve other characters.  You can "move" them as you see fit, and write appropriate dialogue for them.  But you cannot make major decisions for them, which their owner may not approve of. 

Can I use real songs in my posts? 
Yes, we usually pick real songs that we like and give them to our characters to "sing." It's easier than having to make up lyrics and song titles.  But please give credit to the real artist when you can. 

Can I quote song lyrics? 
Please keep song lyrics to a minimum of two paragraphs within the post. If you'd like to include the full song at the end of your post, you're welcome to do so. 

I sent a post to the list five hours ago, and it still hasn't shown up.  What gives? 
Each post players send is placed into a moderation queue.  List moderators read the post, and then approve it, to be sent to the list.  Sometimes we don't get to your post for a while, but don't worry, we will. 

Othertimes, YahooGroups has problems with massive amounts of e-mail, and it slows the process down.  Just be patient.  Everyone's post gets there eventually.
