My Family Connection
sandijo54@bellsouth.net
I dont know very much at all about my great grandfather ,except that he states on marriage record that he was born in Kentucky and was a coal miner. He was born in 1865 and died in 1890,leaving my grandfather as a young baby.
I think I found him in the 1880 Muhlenburg County Kentucky Census and his mother and sister Mary also in 1880 census.
The reason I know he has a sister is because in the Indiana marriage records , states his mother is M.T.Sloan and so does Mary Catiller that married Willaim Cain and John Freeman.

Uncle Fred was telling me that when he was born in Newport Ky. the Dr. spelled his surname as Castilla, so he had to go back in 1933 and get an affidavit signed by a Dr. Weber stating his real name was Catiller. After a very long illness Uncle Fred passed away January 18,2001.

Below is a list of performers as mentioned in the Magic Castle Newsletter for December 2002.

The week beginning December 2, comedy magician Matt Marcy will be performing in the Palace with two of his good friends. He will also emcee the show featuring the classic manipulation act of Jason Baney and the original, modem magic of award winner Danny Cole. One of the best card men around is Bill Goodwin and he will be doing the early shows in the Close-up Gallery followed by Ed Ellis, a frequent visitor from Phoenix. Bill Chaudet is one of our original members -member #8. He was an assistant to the legendary Harry Blackstone, Sr. and this week he will be in the Parlour. George Tovar is always a favorite Castle performer and he will be doing the late shows.

Comedy magician Larry Wilson will be performing solo in the Palace the week beginning December 9. He will be introducing Greg Wilson and Company, performing his illusions as well as some classy sleight of hand effects. It's always a pleasure to watch Earl Nelson, who is a perfectionist when it comes to expert card handling. He will be doing the early close-up shows followed by Rick Gerber, the Budweiser Corporate Magician who always performs this particular week in memory of his late mentor, Fred Catiller. Taylor Hughes is one of our recent ex-Juniors and he will be performing the early shows in the Parlour. Handsome Jack has been nominated two years in a row for our Best Parlour Magician award.
