I, a man whose name is George Everette Sibley, now state several facts related to the denial of communication between me and my late wife, a woman whose birth name - legal name - true Christian name is Lynda Cheryle Lyon and whose married name is Lynda Lyon-Sibley, during the last days of her life on earth:

  1. Our marriage is according to God’s law, and is lawful according to standards recognized and /or established throughout the history of Alabama.

  2. My wife Lynda Cheryle Lyon and I have worked together on our legal defense since our arrest on October 4, 1993, and refused lawyers during our appeals.

  3. An execution date of May 10, 2002 was set, obviously intended to operate upon Lynda although all paperwork by the UJS courts apply to the legal fiction LYNDA LYON BLOCK, to which Lynda Cheryle Lyon has had no connection at any time. Her name ceased to be Lynda Lyon Block in 1992, well before coming to Alabama.

  4. Early on Friday May 3, 2002 I was taken, against my will, to Donaldson Prison in Bessemer, Alabama, hundreds of miles from Holman Prison where I was being held prisoner and to which prison Lynda was to be moved as May 10 approached, thus denying to us husband and wife visits allowed to all others who have been close to execution, and denying to us the opportunity to discuss remaining appeal options.

  5. On Monday afternoon the 6th of May I spoke to Donaldson Prison Warden W. Stephen Bullard, who confirmed that the transfer order came from Michael W. Haley, Commissioner of the Alabama Department of Corrections (DOC) to which Warden Charlie Jones of Holman Prison, and he agreed. At that time I asked Warden Bullard about speaking to Lynda by telephone, to which he agreed, saying he would check with Jones and give me an answer;

  6. The Tuesday morning radio news said that Governor Don Siegelman denied Lynda’s petition for reprieve – though calling it one for “clemency”; so I drafted a successive petition, and a notice to Chief Justice Roy Moore. Being not able to put them into the mail until next morning, Wednesday 8th May I wished to fax copies as “back-up” and send a letter to Warden Bullard requesting to do so.

  7. By the morning of Thursday May 9, 2002 no answer regarding either a telephone call or fax had been given me, and I had drafted a supplemental notice for Moore, so I sent another letter to Warden Bullard via Captain Espy, stressing the urgency of both requests: the telephone calls to Lynda, and faxing documents to Siegelman and Moore. About 9:30am on Thursday Deputy Warden Daniels and Lt. Martin came to me, and Lt, Martin said the decision – from Commissioner Haley – was that I could have no telephone call and do no faxing.

  8. My loving and loyal wife Lynda Cheryle Lyon, innocent of the charge against her according to Alabama law and God’s law, was brutally murdered at 12:01 am on Friday 10th May. In consideration of all factors known to me her tragic death could have been averted had I not been moved – even if I could have spoken to Lynda by telephone. Also in consideration of all known factors I assert that Haley denied us all opportunity for communication with each other for the very reason, since his superior Gov. Don Siegelman had planned her death to coincide closely with the beginning of his re-election campaign, and to be only a few days prior to the police memorial day, his intent being to gain political advantage thereby.
In knowledge of the law against bearing false witness before God and men, I solemnly state that the forgoing statements are true, to the best of my knowledge, information and belief.

In witness thereto I sign my name, on the 29th day of May in the year of our Lord, 2002.

George Everette Sibley Jnr.
