Links – Web links to sites that are of interest to the UP-MSC.

UP Charter Change Movement egroup: An egroup/mailing list established by the UP-MSC to help coordinate action regarding the UP Charter Change. It’s still in its infancy (in fact it’s neonatal J), but everyone is invited to join as early as now. We hope that the egroup will prove to be useful by the time UP as a System focuses on this issue.

Forum: A New UP Charter: A moderated open forum thread on the UP student website peyups.com. The UP-MSC OIC for the UP Charter Change regularly monitors this forum. Read through the thread to see how the UP-MSC has answered questions regarding its move.

Just in! UP VPAA Diokno’s Reaction to WIDEM: Read UP Vice President for Academic Affairs Maria Serena I. Diokno’s insightful reaction on changes to the UP Charter that are being proposed by UP WIDEM II, among which are the abolition of the Board of Regents (BOR) and institution of the UP System Assembly in its place.

UP System: The UP System official website.

UP Manila: The UP Manila official website.

UP Medicine: The UP College of Medicine official website.

Philippine General Hospital: The premiere public tertiary hospital in the Philippines.

UP Diliman University Student Council: The official website of the UPD-USC.

Peyups: The student-owned website for UP students. Of particular interest are the articles contributed by UP students on a variety of topics, and the Forum threads on several issues. Look for the thread “A New UP Charter” in the Campus Issues forum.

Philippine Government Portal: Everything you wanted to know online about the Philippine Government. Includes very useful links to e-services, such as tax payments, NSO requests, PNP/NBI complaints, etc.

House of Representatives: Is the legislative process confusing you? Catch up on your reading at this website of the lower house of the Philippine Congress. They also have facilities for searching Republic Acts (laws) and even Bills, but as of now they’re still renovating the website.

Senate of the Philippines: Fancy writing a letter to your favorite Senator? Want to ask him/her to approve/disapprove the UP Charter Change bills? Click here and find out the contact information for each Senator and Senate Office. (Also under renovation at the moment.)

Supreme Court of the Philippines: Useful for our juridical UP schoolmates in the College of Law. Also helpful if you’d like to read on stuff like the 1987 Philippine Constitution (available in the references) and other matters of jurisprudence.
