partial view, from outside Moscow Kremlin wall towers, church domes and parliament
             road  photography  from  Moscow,S.Petersburg,Yaroslav,Sudhal,Zagorsk,Novgorod,etc
at Red Square, with Kremlin wall  and clock tower on the background, nearby Lenin's underground mausoleum where his body is preserved in glass show case exhibited to public.Photography is strictly forbidden while visitors are tightly watched for unrespectfull behaviour by the guards and  urged  to nonstop move around the coffin till the exit
guards at Kremlin wall
policemen  inside Kremlin wall
night view from outside, Kremlin wall towers and church domes along Moscwa river
Moscow by night,fountains of blood
Lomonoshof Univercity by night, gorgeous and spectacular.Similar to this, six more compounds, like hotel Ukraina on the left photo, give russian capital's natural flatness, a kind of artificial equivalent to Rome's seven hills.
on the midnight  train, tired expressions not matching the artistic extravagance of main Moscow metro stations (unfortunately not proper film in the camera  for night shooting)
in front of Ukraina Hotel,"my home" during my short stay in Moscow.
at S.Petersburg;on the background an old light house for navigation at river Netva
on the background one of the many canals and bridges in city center that justify  for S.Petersburg the surname "Venice of the North"
Perhaps the most characteristic  element of  traditional Russian architecture ,the onion shaped domes, scattered everywhere in numerous versions of size, colour and decoration, consist an eye catching spot at every city, town or village,a really unique "russian salad" of artistic creativity

Deeply religious (orthodox christians),Russians express their faith in many occasions, finding perhaps an illusion of hope for better  tomorrow,an "escape exit" from life's dead end....
short break at road cafe on the way from S.Petersburg to Novgorod
another road cantina, this one housed  in an old bus which, though withdrown ages ago, looks  by far in better condition from most public  buses still in operation not only in  provincial districts, but even  in Moscow and other big cities....
although the consequences of deep economic crisis are obvious on  every day life of Russian people,a certain part of  population, especially in Moscow, enjoys distinctively high standards of living. On the road, one can notice lots of latest Mercedes and BMW biggest models rolling among thousands of Ladas and Volgas.Apparently the  middle class is missing, but Russia remains  the biggest client in the world for those luxury car makers......
...school kids who persistently demanded  photo with me...(not a vip anyway)
outside of Novgorod kremlin (=castle in Russian)
isolated house on the way from Petersburg to Novgorod
at park with replicas of old  wooden  buildings, close to Novgorod
inside Kremlin wall,S.Basil 's,though not so big,it is to my opinion  the most stylish among  the churches seen in whole trip (...by the way, this favor does not derive from my own name's similarity --Basil,an original Greek name=Vassilis in Hellenic, meaning king or royal...nothing to do with me,besides I'm an atheist by conscience since my childhood....)
