Who I am

My name is Hosam Adeeb Nashed, I live in Egypt (believe it or not, I'm Egyptian). I'm a composer, although I work as a computer programmer. Actually, I'm aTechnical Coordinator, but that's too big a title, isn't it.

Have you got Roland GS musical equipment with which you'd like to produce quarter-tones? Read my introduction on how to do just that, then go ahead and have fun doing it the easy way, either using my Java applet, or my other plain JavaScript version of the same utility.
Tips on how to play the Block Flute (otherwise known as the Recorder) using our scales, i.e. including Quarter-Tones (the interval is in fact three-quarters of a tone), so all of you can try out those scales I'm going to tell you about.

N.B.: The JavaScript on this page is best viewed in Netscape Navigator (any version), or MS Internet Explorer version 3.02 under Win3.1 (well, almost) or version 4. Sorry for those still using IE 3.02 under Win95; the page is utterly useless!!

And let's just make it an open forum, why not! I mean, if you send me some e-mail telling me you're interested in something that might be of interest to other neighbours as well, how shall I resist the temptation?!
