5. FUTURE OF VOLUNTARISM IN THE PRESENT SCENARIO:
12th anniversary of
Vikasbhai’s demise (29th December 1999) was devoted to organising
a get –together of social
activists of Bundelkhand ; the theme of discussion was ‘ future of voluntarism in the present scenario’ . It was brought to
focus that money, professionalism, and Govt.’s interference/ influence are mounting pressure these days over the
voluntary work. The most needed
sensitive heart in the social and developmental process seems to be totally missing.
Voluntary organization in the
shape of NGO is turning sluggish and un-concerned almost similar to any
other body ;the spontaneous voluntarism is facing danger which is not a healthy outcome of any civil
society . This situation must change and voluntarism, the very essence of
Indian social developmental process must be re-established.
