Arrowmen, this is the first month of the new year. It is a new year in OA and in our Lodge. We have set an ambitious plan for this year and i invite you to join us in it. From Sectional to NOAC, we've got a little bit of something going on all the time. Each month, we are working to create the best program we can for you. If you have an idea or a comment, please contact me at LodgeChief@TahosaLodge.org.

Part of being in OA is having fun and we want to make sure that happens this year for all members. We've improved the Cony Party system, and I invite all arrowmen to come and show support for the new scouts who take our oath. If you haven't yet become a brotherhood member, we have a million and one options for you. The next one is going to be at the Banquet, 4:00pm. Of course, if you have your brotherhood, please plan on attending the Brotherhood Ceremony to show your support for those who are sealing their membership.

The Banquet will be held on Feburary 2, 2002 at Overland High School. It will take place at 5:30pm. For 18$, you will recieve a patch, dinner, and a chance to have some fun. The Lodge will announce the 2002 Vigil Candidates, the 2002 Founder's Award Recipiants, and we'll even let the Lodge Chief say hello to the lodge. Of course the important part of this whole event is YOU. Yes, YOU the arrowman. I strongly reconmend that you go and join us.

Sectional Conclave will be held in April, 19-21. While details are in the works. I encourage you to start thinking about this event. This event isn't just our lodge getting together to have fun, it's also Ha-Kin-Skay-A-Ki and Mic-O-Say joining us in a weekend of friendship and fellowship. Among the many events offered, we'll include some fun and games, awesome shows, training, ceremony competitions, workshops, and all the other great events people have come to expect at Sectional Conclave.

With the Cony Parties in the Spring, Summer camp in the Summer, and Camp Rap in the Fall, we're sure every new arrowmen will have a chance to complete his Ordeal. For all Ordeal members, each of these is a chance for brotherhood. What better way to show suppot for your lodge and new scouts than to seal your membership and become brotherhood. Brotherhood is a simple process, yet builds on the challenges of the Ordeal. You must memorize the Obligation, Admonition, and OA song, which of course you know from all the events we hold and say them at. Aside from that you need to write a letter to the lodge, explaining your goals and how you plan to continue your charge to service. Whether or not you plan to seal your membership in the lodge, I request you to come and show support for your fellow scouts as they become members of our lodge. With all the new things we're doing this year for Camp Rap (it's at Tahosa this year) and the Cony Parties, you won't want to miss a thing.

With all that is going on, one might think our summer was booked. But we have one more event that occurs this summer: NOAC. The National Order of the Arrow Conference (NOAC) will be held in Indainia this year. Imagine 10 000 of your Arrowmen from accross the country and even the globe gathering in one small college campus. Ceremony Competitions, Publications (like this website or our cony Chatter) will be competing against one another at NOAC. They'll be training workshops, shows, once in a lifetime fireworks displays, and of course PATCH TRADING. Yes, they'll be patch trading going on 24-7 at NOAC, just don't tell our Lodge Adviser or we won't see him until we leave. If you are interested in having fun with the lodge this summer, please send me an email, or contact the Lodge NOAC chairman (NOAC@TahosaLodge.org)

Of Course this is only the tip of the iceberg of events the Lodge has going on. NLS will be in Denver in October, Fall Fellowship in September, Scout Show in April, a service project and much much more. If you haven't seen the NEW OA, stop in at any of our events. We also got a new Lodge Flap. The new flap will be available at the Banquet, and NOT at Council Office.

May everyone have a wonderful winter break, and a happy new year!

In Brotherhood,

Christopher Moore
