TOM WAITS AT THE ORPHEUM THEATRE IN BOSTON ON 9/20/99

There is only one word I can use to describe Tom Waits, AMAZING. Listening to his music is one thing but seeing him perform his music live is another! From the moment he ran out into the audience at the start of the show until the last time he walked off the stage, the audience was mesmerized. The glittering confetti he threw everywhere, his mirrored hat, his stunning stage presence, the tight control of his band; the crowd just clapped and yelled for more. The crowd was a diverse mix of people; proof that his music spans generations and cultures. Some of my favorite songs from the show were “Eyeball Kid”, “Chocolate Jesus”, “Filipino Box Spring Hog”, “Get Behind the Mule”, and” Jesus Gonna Be Here”. Below I have listed the complete set list from the show. As I filed out of the building with everyone else, I heard only praise for the show. I think everyone who left that night came away feeling satisfied and very happy, I know I did.
