For the Love of Truth...
No evidence, not even a miracle,
will be good enough...
John 12:37 OEven after
Jesus had done all these miraculous signs
in their presence, they still would not believe in him.
Even though there's proof
around you...
Rom. 1:20 OFor since
the creation of the world God's invisible qualities
- his eternal power and divine nature - have been clearly seen,
being understood from what has been made,
so that men are without excuse.
And proof within you...
Rom. 2:14-16 O(Indeed, when
Gentiles, who do not have the law, do by nature things required
by the law, they are a law for themselves, even though they do
not have the law, since they show that the requirements of the
law are written on their hearts, their
consciences also bearing witness, and their thoughts
now accusing, now even defending them.) This will take place
on the day when God will judge men's secrets through Jesus Christ,
as my gospel declares.
Thus to claim that God doesn't
exist is pure folly...
Psa. 14:1a OThe fool says
in his heart, "There is no God."
Nor is it that you "lack
belief" but that you "suppress Truth"...
Rom. 1:18 OThe wrath
of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness
and wickedness of men who suppress the truth
by their wickedness,
And you cling to a false substitution...
Rom. 1:25 OThey exchanged
the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and
served created things rather than the Creator
A lie predicted to come about...
2Pet. 3:4 OThey will say, "Where is this 'coming' he promised?
Ever since our fathers died, everything goes on as it has
since the beginning of creation."
A lie that's been warned about...
Col. 2:8 OSee to it that no one takes you captive
through hollow and deceptive philosophy,
which depends on human tradition and the basic principles of
this world rather than on Christ.
Since you suppress the Truth
you are close-minded toward Jesus...
John 18:37b O... for this
reason I was born, and for this I came into the world, to testify
to the truth. Everyone on the side of truth listens to me."
And you even actively "reject"
the Truth of Him...
John 3:36 OWhoever believes
in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects
the Son will not see life, for God's wrath remains
on him."
Biblically, Truth and Light
are equated...
Psa. 43:3 OSend forth
your light and your truth,
let them guide me; let them bring me to your holy mountain, to
the place where you dwell.
You reject Truth because you
want to follow your own desires that go against God's will...
John 3:19 OThis is the
verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved
darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil.
This decision brings turmoil
into your life...
Rom. 2:8 OBut for those who are self-seeking and
who reject the truth and follow
evil, there will be wrath and anger.
And even your eternal fate
is the result of this rejection...
2Th. 2:10b O...They perish
because they refused to love the truth
and so be saved.
But it doesn't have to be
this way...
John 8:31b-32 O ...Jesus
said, "If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples.
Then you will know the truth, and
the truth will set you free."
You do have a choice...
Psa. 119:30 OI have chosen
the way of truth; I have set my heart on your laws.
This choice will direct your
path...
John 3:21a OBut whoever
lives by the truth comes into the light...
Which will shine in an uncomfortable
place for you...
Prov. 20:27 OThe lamp of the LORD searches the spirit of a man; it searches
out his inmost being.
And expose some things you
won't want to see...
Luke 2:35 Oso that the
thoughts of many hearts will be revealed.
And a sword will pierce your own soul too."
You will come under conviction...
Heb. 4:12 OFor the word
of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword,
it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow;
it judges the thoughts and attitudes of
the heart.
And realize you have sinned
against God...
Psa. 51:3 OFor I know
my transgressions, and my sin is always before me.
But someone paid the price
for you...
Matt. 26:28 OThis is my
blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the
forgiveness of sins.
All you need do is accept
Him...
John 13:20 OI tell you
the truth, whoever accepts anyone I send accepts
me; and whoever accepts me accepts the one who sent me."
Because He is the Truth...
John 14:6 OJesus answered,
"I am the way and the truth and
the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
Admit that you have been wrong...
Acts 3:19 ORepent, then, and turn to God, so that your
sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from
the Lord,
And receive...
Luke 18:17 OI tell you
the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom
of God like a little child will never enter it.
Then the Light (Truth) you
once ran from...
Is. 29:15 OWoe to those
who go to great depths to hide their plans from the LORD, who
do their work in darkness and think, "Who sees us? Who will
know?"
You can have fellowship with...
1Th. 5:5 OYou are all sons of the light and sons of the day. We do not belong to the night
or to the darkness.
It
boils down to a love of truth over a love of self.
So...which is it going to be?
John 8:45 OYet because
I tell the truth, you do not believe me!
For those of you being
led by The Holy Spirit, here's more...
Part of real history is the bad
news that the rebellion of the first man, Adam, against God's
command brought death, suffering, and separation from God into
this world.
We see the results all around
us.
All of Adam's descendants are
sinful from conception (Psalm 51:5) and have themselves entered
into this rebellion (sin). They therefore cannot live with a
holy God, but are condemned to separation from God.
The Bible says that 'all have
sinned, and come short of the glory of God' (Romans 3:23) and
that all are therefore subject to 'everlasting destruction from
the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power' (2
Thessalonians 1:9).
But the good news is that God
has done something about it. 'For God so loved the world, that
He gave his only-begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should
not perish, but have everlasting life '(John 3:16).
Jesus Christ the Creator, though
totally sinless, suffered, on behalf of mankind, the penalty
of mankind's sin, which is death and separation from God. He
did this to satisfy the righteous demands of the holiness and
justice of God, His Father.
Jesus was the perfect sacrifice;
He died on a cross, but on the third day, He rose again, conquering
death, so that all who truly believe in Him, repent of their
sin and trust in Him (rather than their own merit), are able
to come back to God and live for eternity with their Creator.
Therefore: 'He who believes on
Him is not condemned, but he who does not believe is condemned
already, because he has not believed in the name of the only-begotten
Son of God '(John 3:18).
The Bible also says, 'If we confess
our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and
to cleanse us from all unrighteousness' (1 John1:9).

Genesis)
A Note From the Editor
in Chief
I used to believe that to
become a Christian was to give up all my freedom. But I learned
that to be free from God was to be in bondage to sin and not
really free in the first place.
My
life was a testimony to this truth.
True freedom came by submitting
to Him and allowing Him to save me from myself by removing my
sin - which I could not do. I Once was spiritually blind but
now see life for what it truly is since God removed the sin-stained
goggles that distorted my worldview.
My
life is a testimony to this truth.
He
did it for me and He'll do it for you.
That's a promise.
The "Skeptics
Prayer"
(for those who are willing to find)
"God,
I don't know whether you even exist. I'm a skeptic. I doubt.
I think you may be only a myth. But I'm not certain (at least
not when I'm completely honest with myself).
So if you
do exist, and if you really did promise to reward all seekers,
you must be hearing me now.
So I hereby
declare myself a seeker, a seeker of the truth, whatever it is
and wherever it is. I want to know the truth and live the truth.
If you are the truth, please help me."
The "Skeptic's Prayer"
is a scientifically fair test of the Christian "hypothesis",
that is, if you do not put unfair restrictions on God, like demanding
a miracle (your way, not His) or certainty by tomorrow (your
time, not His).
The demand that God act like
your servant would not be a scientific fair test of the
hypothesis that there is a God who is your King.
And you also should be honest
with yourself by asking, . . .
"Would
I submit to Jesus if it were indeed proven to me that it is all
true?"
