Common
RPG Guidelines
Here are
some simple guidelines to follow if you would like to participate in the
Role Playing Game.
The Story
- will take place directly at the beginnning of The Mummy and will
continue on from that point. Characters from the very beginning may
stray from the movie's plot if they so wish, creating new plotlines and
events in the history of The Mummy.
Players may
change their character's personality, but should keep in mind to do so
realistically and before starting to Role Play, let everyone know the past
of their character, whether it's a main character from the movies or an
original character. This will help avoid confusion.
Readers will
likely assume the character's history is at least mostly like it is in
the movie, so a player should keep that in mind and implement the changes
starting in the story, or at least imply that ie: Evy didn't know Jonathan
was evil.
Some Basic
Tips For Play
No killing
off of characters. You may not kill off another player's character
without their express permission. Please consult a character's owner
before writing a post that kills off said character.
An extension
of the above. No rendering another player's character permanently
immovable without permission. Meaning no crippling injuries, no trapping
a character permanently unless you have permission. I realize this
is an RPG and to Role Play you have to have options, so I will allow a
non-permanent way of holding a character, but it must be realistic and
if the owner cannot post for more than a day, some way of letting that
character go or have story to post must be arranged.
No posting
dialog for someone else's character unless they give you permission to
do so.
Write
your characters realistically. Don't make your character become a
god with 56 arms, each wielding a gun, that swoops in and solves all the
problems.
Players
can have more than one character if they choose, but must ask permission
first and cannot have any more than 3 characters at any given time.
NPCs
are Non Player Characters that aren't being played by any one person, such
as perhaps the warden from the jail where Rick was kept. Anyone may
include NPC dialog and actions in their posts. Permission from the
Moderator must be obtained before killing off one of these characters.
Formatting.
Please trying to make your posts easy to read and avoid writing long posts
in one huge paragraph. Use indents and spaces to separate sections
if you can. Formatting cleanly will help other players and readers
to read it easier.
Have
fun! Have as much fun as you can while writing and let the other
players have fun as well.
