 ALL members,

 1. Congratulations to IJC members who participated at the recent National Championships. Vanessa Woon won her event, Adrian came in second and Ho Tien Min was unplaced. Tien Min gave a good account of himself despite his inexperience and bouts against much stronger opponents. The Pesta Sukan is on Sunday 27 Aug 06 at 9 am Bedok Stadium. Those interested should contact Mr Yeo Chin Seng. Interest to compete does not mean automatic approval to compete. IJC will assess the member's skills and experience so as avoid injuries. 

 2. Training for the rest of Aug 06 at Fengshan CC will be on Tue, Thur and Sun. All members are to ensure that they enroll as CC members (PAssion Card holders). 

 3. Fee Structure - The IJC committee had approved that all arrears in 2005 fees will be nullified. For 2006, members (less those who join IJC in Fengshan) need only to pay three months ($60). From 1 Sep 06, all members including new members will pay to the CC $60 for six months and thereafter $60 every 6 months. (This means the fees will be $10 per month and collected twice a year.) 

 4. Black Belt Grading - Several IJC members will be taking part in the grading at the Singapore Judo CLub on Sat 26 Aug 06 at 2 pm. Members are encouraged to witness the event and also to support our members. 

 5. Mr Koh Eng Kian, President of IJC had given notice that he would not be standing for re-election as President at our AGM to be held in Dec 06.

 ALL members,

  1. Training at Fengshan CC.   Training as usual on Tue 2 & Thur 4 Aug 06. There will be no training on Sunday 6 and 8 Aug 06.    Due to the nature of the dojo, there will be days when no classes are conducted, suggest you call the instructor of the day to  confirm. 

  2. BBQ for all members.   The BBQ will be held on 8 Aug 06 at 6.30 pm onwards. You may come early to The Tanamera condo (opposite Tahan Merah MRT) at 4 pm for a swim before the BBQ. (Address is 3 Tahan Merah Kechil Road) The BBQ is free of charge for all members. However, those who want to bring extra food/fruits or drinks are welcome to do so. 

  3. National Judo Championship.    Our club is sending three members for this event. Come to support them at Bedok Stadium at 9 am on 6 Aug 06.

   2. Classes at FengShan Community Club

 There will be no training until Thur 27 Jul 06 at 7.30 pm. Training at
 Fengshan is problematic as classes will be cancelled if the hall is
 used. Members should be patient and see it as a form of training too.
 Slowly but surely the number of members turning up for training has
 increased. We have even had several new members.

 Try to provide club the Internet address ID of your friends who are
 members and not receiving these notices.

   3.  All IJC members are expected to join Fengshan or any community
 club/centre in order to train at FengShan. Get the application forms from
 the Fengshan office. Membership is cheap and useful at all CCs in
 Singapore.

   4. IJC Members are expected to pay only three months ($60) of IJC fee
 for 2006 up to this Jul 06. A new fee structure, much less then the
 present has been worked out with FengShan.

          c. Competition Co-ordinator/Captain – Yeo CS will be responsible for entering, selecting and preparing members for the   various competitions. As club captain, he will lead IJC in friendly matches. The suitability of the members for competition will be  verified in consultation with the instructor.

Try to maintain fitness until we have regular sessions at a dojo again. To keep in touch, IJC is organising fitness training sessions outside the dojo. 

The first will be at the Bedok Stadium on Sunday 6 Nov 05 at 8.30 am. Assemble outside the main entrance. No judogis for this training, come in t shirts,shorts/track pants and running shoes. Have a light breakfast before coming. We will end training about 10.30 am. Master Yeo (once fittest man in Chai Chee) will lead the training. 

Grading - Be prepared. You can do so at the schools mentioned in the earlier email. Call Secretary Stephen Loh (96205128) if you intend on taking the grading on 3 Dec 05. Payment can be made on the day of the grading. Details on date/time/place will be made known when available.
