Jump To Home 2001 Certamen Prelims Events Certamen Prelims Tri-State Certamen Catapult Contest Classics Day National Convention State Convention Webmaster	CERTAMEN PRELIMINARIES On Thursday, March 28th 2002, the 2002 Certamen Preliminaries were hosted by Quabbin Regional High School in Barre, MA. Certamen teams of all levels from all over the state of Massachusetts gathered with the hope that their team would qualify for the State competition in May. Like every year, the preliminaries cannot be taken lightly because if a team does not place in top three at this competition, that team cannot compete at the State Convention and get the chance to represent Massachusetts at Nationals. And like every year, the competition is so fierce that many competitors, although with years of experience, can crack under pressure. There were also others who were having difficulty answering questions without a buzzer machine. Despite of all this pressure and apprehension faced by the competitors, this event was well-organized and everything went smoothly. Finally, after three rounds of 12 questions with two boni each, all the points were totaled. Many shierks of excitement were heard from some, while grief from others. In the end, there are no losers, only winners.
	These schools qualify to compete at the State Convention on May 11th, 2002, for the chance to represent MA at Nationals are . . . . .
