Jump To Home 2002 Certamen Prelims Events Tri-State Certamen Catapult Contest Classics Day National Convention State Convention Webmaster	CERTAMEN PRELIMINARIES On Friday, April 27th 2001, Certamen teams of all levels from all over the state of Massachusetts gathered at Wakefield High School to compete in the annual Certamen Preliminaries. The Certamen Prelims is very important to Certamen competitors because this is the competition that decides which three schools will participate at each level in Competitive Certamen at the MJCL State Convention in May. At the Prelims, each level competed against two other teams of the same level in a series of three rounds with each round consisting of 12 questions. The competition was fierce and the difficulty of each round seemed to increase. Many competitors were nervous; however, they tried to calm themselves and concentrate on the questions. At the end of three rounds, the scores were totalled and the top three scorers of each level were announced. Many shriekings and cheering followed.
	These schools qualify to compete at the finals during the MJCL State Convention on 5-12-2001
