September 21,1998 at 10:30am was a sad day on Tybee Island, for it is the day all the rides at TYBEE ISLAND AMUSMENT PARK were auctioned.
I feel really sad about it cause it has been a part of my life for many years.I started working there at age 13 after spending the previous summer traveling in a carnival with family. It was that expirence that is responsible for my many happy years at Tybee Island Amusment Park.
I started out running the Roller Coaster then the Ferris Wheel, it became my favorite summer past time. The job (working with kids and their parents) and the kindness of the owner Mr. Gene Glisson is responsible for my 20 year dedication.
