Knowing Me, Knowing You
It has been said that knowing is half the battle.
Well, know this. A virtual or cyberspace harddrive is "virtually" worthless. I have tried the x-drive technologies so called express x-dive system and now my stuff is held away from me since I can't logon to my x-drive. I even downloaded software to make it appear with my other drive info. Now I can't download the stuff so I can use it.
Sweet, real sweet.
Know this: it doesn't save from other sites any faster than downloading to a real hard-drive. It is, at best, about 100megs of space and this would have been fine if I were running a 20,30,40, or even 127 meg hard drive that was short on space. But I run 12 gigs of hard drive. My gif and jpg files use 2gigs. My temp files are 2 gig and my program files use 1 gig. I still have 7gigs of unused space. What was I thinking. Oh, yeah, a free drive. Or a faster way to get files that I can download to my computer at a later date. Shoot! (bang) I use getright.com software to get my downloads. I never lose data since if I get cutoff I can "resume" from where I was cutoff. It saves hours of wasted attempts. (especially with AOL booting people off all the time). The picture below is what I see when I try to access my "x-drive internet hard drive".

O.K. I did have one good reason for a virtual drive. I found about 80 Abbs Midis and I wanted my Sis in Arizona to get them and I was thinking to my self," Self, if we had them up there, she could access them and download them."
Bad Idea. Luckily everything I see or hear is in my tempfiles, thank god and I back 'em up on a 4gig storage hard-drive. I'll zip 'em up and put them on floppies (no rw-cd drive yet) using a file splitter program and she can have them. I might even e them. She never has time to surf but she does like ABBA. They rule. Even my kids like them.
