Well... the "Miles" crap has come and gone. We had a catalog. We had lots of miles. We said, "FERGIT IT". Why? Well, check out the order form. We had to have a photostatic copy of a legal id of a smoker. Everything had to be perfect or they could refuse to honor our order. The shipping&handling was based on number of miles, not size of item. We decided to just buy what we want here in good old TOE LE DOE.
One cool thing. I bought some of the "MILES" prizes/items from ebay and saved the hassle, plus they cost much less (and no fuss!)

UPDATE:2001.... We have been waiting for that silly catalog and it never came. We filled out new forms and still nothing. Like I say down below, they SUCK! We gave away 3 thousand hard earned Marlboro Miles because "WE WERE NOT ON THE MAILING LIST". We spent nearly 3 thousand miles last year(2000) and got 10 items. We should have been on that freakin' list!
I don't believe that smoking is cool but it is cool to get merchandise for nearly free.
The problem is that these free items aren't FREE. They can cost you your life.
Youngsters should wait to start smoking if that turns them on. What is their hurry?
Why do they want to grow up? Smoking is not an indicator of your maturity.
Even a chimpanzee can learn to smoke and that doesn't mean they are "grown-up".
Now, with all that aside, let's move on to the reason I'm putting this page up.
Marlboro Miles SUCK !!!
We have been getting stuff from the Marlboro Miles for a couple of years and only the first time we tried it, did we have 100% success. The second time, we had a big order and most of it came. The big disappointment was not getting the portable 40 channel cb radios with car cords and power supplies. They cost 2000 miles (half of what we sent in). Instead, we got a Zippo lighter. It was a nice lighter, and probably very expensive, but we wanted the cb radios. This year Marlboro never even sent us a catalog and order form. We gave away 5000 miles so they wouldn't be wasted. Now, here's what happened.
I contacted them after finding the number online. Then after requesting an order form, they said I had never done any business with them. I had to wait until they sent me a form to fill out. I filled it out and waited for a couple of weeks. Then they sent another letter saying I needed to send in a valid government ID to get the items I ordered. The problem is that I never received an order form or catalog, so how could I have an order that they can't send? It's already November and we have no chance to order stuff now. I do janitorial work and found quite a few "miles" in garbage cans and in the streets. I'm sorry I didn't buy one from someone on E-bay along with a few thousand more miles for only around $40. My mistake there.
I found it interesting that Marlboro would spend $3.50 two times in a row on useless letters that were only intended to waste time so I couldn't get my order placed. It was cute to pretend to think I already had an order placed and, even then, they timed the second letter to get here after the deadline. I contacted them in late September and some of the fault might rest with me. I used regular first class and I should have used priority mail like they did. That would have lessened the value of my order and I'm a stickler for value.
I blame Marlboro for being so stingy with their order forms. The forms and catalogs aren't cigarettes. So what if a kid sees one? There aren't any "R" rated items in a catalog. That whole lame routine is a real touch of irony since, once the kids are of age, they will want them to light up and smoke and buy Marlboro cigarettes. I guess it makes them major hipocrites.
