False prophets are the antichrists. They are non-Christians who go forth to deceive Christians. They are the agents of the devil. With signs and wonders they go forth to mislead Christians and destroy their faith in Jesus. They lead many Christians to apostasy. During the end time, there will arise many antichrists, whose work is to prepare the coming of the Antichrist (man of sin) before Rapture, and finally the Beast (devil's incarnate), who will appear only after Rapture.

Note: At Rapture the Antichrist will be killed by the brightness of the coming of our Lord Jesus. Then, there will be wars in heaven and Stan the Devil be be cast down to earth. Immediately, he will incarnate using the dead body of the Antichrist. After Rapture, the `resurrected Antichrist' is called the `Beast' the Devil incarnate
After the Israel-PLO Peace Accord in 1993AD, the Devil will immediately begin to prepare his coming to earth. He will appoint 7 agents worldwide to do his work. These will cause disasters and havoc in the financial, political, and religious systems along with racial and tribal riots and wars worldwide. His demons will cause worldwide natural disasters.
At this very moment, these agents have already caused havoc worldwide:-

All these demonic attacks put all types of fear into mankind. Then, the Antichrist will appear as the Messiah, who will be welcome by most. However, he will only be around as the Messiah for a very short period of a few weeks. His death is the result of the Coming of our Lord.
Who is a liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist who denies the Father and the Son. I Jn 2:22
For many deceivers have gone out into the world who do not confess Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist. II Jn 1:7
…Now the beast which I saw was like a leopard, his feet were like the feet of a bear, and his mouth like the mouth of a lion
Mouth of a lion
"The first was like a lion, and had eagle’s wings. I watched till wings were plucked off; and it was lifted up from the earth and made to stand on two feet like a man, and a man’s heart was given to it." Dan 7:4
At the end of the twelve months he was walking about the royal palace of Babylon. The king spoke, saying, "Is not this great Babylon, that I have built for a royal dwelling by my mighty power and for the honor of my majesty? " While the word was still in the king’s mouth, a voice fell from heaven: "King Nebuchadnezzar, to you it is spoken: the kingdom has departed from you! And they shall drive you from men, and your dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field. They shall make you eat grass like oxen; and seven times shall pass over you, until you know that the Most High rules in the kingdom of men, and gives it to whomever He chooses." That very hour the word was fulfilled concerning Nebuchadnezzar; he was driven from men and ate grass like oxen; has body was wet with the dew of heaven till his hair had grown like eagles’ feathers and his nails like birds’ claws. And at the end of the time I, Nebuchadnezzar, lifted my eyes to heaven, and my understanding returned to me; and I blessed the Most High and praised and honored Him who lives forever: for His dominion is an everlasting dominion, and His kingdom is from generation to generation. Dan 4:29-34
The lion represents king Nebuchadnezzar. He boasted of his successes to be his own works, thus God made him to go on four and eat grass as an animal. His hair became like eagle’s feathers. After his repentance, God set him on his feet and gave him back his kingdom. This Antichrist boasted that he will bring back the glory of the former Babylon as in the days of king Nebuchadnezzar. Recently, Babylon was rebuilt by Saddam Hussien.
Feet of bear
"And suddenly another beast, a second, like a bear. It was raised up on one side, and had three ribs in its mouth between its teeth. And they said thus to it: "Arise, devour much flesh!" Dan 7:5
"And now I will tell you the truth: Behold, three more kings will arise in Persia, and the fourth shall be far richer than them all; by his strength, through his riches, he shall stir up all against the realm of Greece." Dan 11:2
This bear represents the 4th king of Persia. He destroyed the works of the previous 3 kings and set forth to destroy mercilessly the neighbouring countries. The foundation of the 4th king of Persia was the merciless conquest of other nations. The foundation of Iran (present day Persia) is their religion Islam, which even many other Islamic nations consider as extreme.
Body of a leopard
"After this I looked, and there was another, like a leopard, which had on its back four wings of a bird. The beast also had four heads, and dominion was given to it." Dan 7:6
Alexander the Great conquered the whole of the Middle Eastern countries, North Africa and the Indian sub-continent with marvelous rapidity. Within a few years he became extremely powerful.
"At the time of the end the king of the South shall attack him; and the king of the North shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter the countries, overwhelm them, and pass through." Dan 11:40
Thus, the Antichrist (king of the North) with the empowering of the devil will conquer the Middle East nations at a very fast pace like a whirlwind to form his `New Babylonian Empire'
"There are also seven kings. Five have fallen, one is, and the other has not yet come. And when he comes, he must continue a short time. And the beast that was, and is not, is himself also the eighth, and is of the seven, and is going to perdition. The ten horns which you saw are ten kings who have received no kingdom as yet, but they receive authority for one hour as kings with the beast. These are of one mind, and they will give their power and authority to the beast." Rev 17:10-13

The `seventh empire' will `in the future'. Once again before Rapture, the whole Middle East including Israel and Jerusalem will be under the rule from Iraq (likely). This will be the `New Babylonian Empire' ruled by the Antichrist. He will set up his capital in Jerusalem. However, the rule of the Antichrist will only for a short period of a few years only. He will be killed by the coming of our Lord at Rapture.
The antichrists are the devil's agents or enemies of God. A total of seven effective and powerful antichrists (i.e. some Rulers of the rich Arab world, Presidents or Prime ministers of powerful nations, and rich individuals) were mentioned in the last days. One of these 7 antichrists will be the `Antichrist' (as stated in II Thess 2 - man of sin or son of perdition), and he will be the head of Iraq - at this moment possibly Saddam Hussien. After the Rapture, Satan will be cast down to earth (Rev 12:7-13) and he will use the dead body of the Antichrist for his incarnation to become that horrifying `Beast' (1st beast in Rev 13). The `Beast' will be the horrible `Terror' during the period of the wrath of Satan. All the other antichrists will become his agents. Agent of the devil is the `antichrist' but the devil's incarnate is the `Beast'
"And in the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors have reached their fullness, a king shall arise, having fierce features, who understands sinister schemes. His power shall be mighty, but not by his own power; he shall destroy fearfully, and shall prosper and thrive; he shall destroy the mighty, and also the holy people. Through his cunning he shall cause deceit to prosper under his rule; and he shall exalt himself in his heart. He shall destroy many in their prosperity. He shall even rise against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without human means." Dan 8:23-25
The Antichrist is the agent of the angel of light (devil). He is extremely cunning and has great knowledge of sinister schemes in deceiving Christians. During his rule on earth, deception of Christians abounds and prevails. He wants to deceive all Christians if possible, for he is the enemy of our Lord. He exalts himself to be the messiah; thus he goes forth with signs and wonders to deceive mankind (especially Christians) to worship him. His sinister schemes of deception are extremely effective and these will enable him to deceive many Christians including the very elect. He comes as our Lord's imitation, thus blaspheming Him.
The devil’s ulterior motive is to deceive Christians, Jews and all creation to worship him. Since the final destination of Christian is with the Father in heaven, he tries to minimise the number by deception. It looks like he will be very successful for many will be deceived by him. Once they worship the Antichrist, they will immediately lose their salvation. Therefore, the Antichrist together with his agents (false christs and false prophets) will go forth to mislead the Christians. With the many signs and wonders, all mankind will be amazed, and many Christians and Jews will follow him to damnation.
However, true disciples (Elect of God) of our Lord Jesus Christ will be rejected by nominal, worldly, carnal and misled Christians. They will be betrayed by these fearful Christians to the authorities to be tortured and killed as radicals and apostates. During their martyrdom viewed by all mankind, the Holy Spirit will use their mouths to preach the everlasting Gospel. Thus all mankind will have the Gospel preached to them prior to Rapture. These faithful Christians (true disciples) were found worthy to be the elect of God and to be taken from this world prior to the Wrath of Satan.
The Antichrist will also try to deceive the Jews to prevent them from getting saved. Immediately after the Rapture, it will be the Period of the Jews whereby the remnants (all those Jews, who have not been deceived nor worship him or Beast and his image), will accept the Lord Jesus Christ as their Messiah.

"And unless the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect's sake, whom He chose, He shortened the days." Mark 13:20
However, he will only be around for a very short time. The Lord for the elect's sake had shorten this period of the Great Tribulation to possibly a few weeks, otherwise all will be deceived.
Little children, it is the last hour; and as you have heard that the Antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come, by which we know that it is the last hour. I Jn 2:18
During the end time, when many antichrists appear to mislead Christians to apostasy, then we will know that the Antichrist will be appearing soon. Only the weakest of them, i.e. the Antichrist from Iraq is mentioned in Scripture and he will become the most powerful and fearful among them all. He will conquer all the Arab nations and Jerusalem to establish his `New Babylonian Empire'. He will allow the Jews to come back to build the Temple of God. There will be peace and prosperity during his short rule. He will then sit in the Temple of God proclaiming himself the `messiah'. Many including Christians will follow him. The other 6 antichrists will be very powerful, rich and influential individuals worldwide, and when that `Beast' appears after the Rapture, they will hand over their authorities and powers to him.
The rule of the Antichrist will be from the establishment of the `New Babylonian Empire' with Jerusalem its capital till his death at Rapture. This period will be about 4 years. The period of the Great Tribulation will only be a few weeks (possibly 45 days)
