RUTH
BLESSED OF GOD
I'm going to be reading today from the
book of Ruth, reading from chapter 2 and also from chapter 1.
Ruth 2:10-12 ( Then she fell on her face, and bowed herself to
the ground, and said unto him, Why have I found grace in thine
eyes, that thou shouldest take knowledge of me, seeing I am a
stranger? ver.11 And Boaz answered and said unto her, It hath
fully been showed me, all that thou hast done unto thy mother in
law since the death of thine husband: and how thou hast left thy
father and thy mother, and the land of thy nativity, and art come
unto a people which thou knewest not heretofore. ver12 The LORD
recompense thy work, and a full reward be given thee of
the LORD God of Israel, under whose wings thou art come to
trust.)
She
Left All To Serve God
We look at the life of this Moabite lady named Ruth, and can
say; GOD REALLY BLESSED HER! And this is true. And want I want
you to see, is that: THIS KIND OF BLESSING AND RECOGNITION DIDN'T
JUST HAPPEN, THERE WAS A REASON THAT THIS GREAT BLESSING CAME
UPON HER LIFE!
Let's take a look again at ver.11 and you will see what
brought about such a Blessing. (And Boaz answered and said unto
her, It hath fully been showed me, all that thou hast done unto
thy mother in law since the death of thine husband: and how
thou hast left thy father and thy mother, and the land of
thy nativity, and art come unto a people which thou knewest
not heretofore.) You see when the time came for Ruth to make the
choice to ether go back to her fathers house and to all the false
god's of her past, or to go with Naomi into the land of Israel
and SERVE THE TRUE GOD; she choose to LEAVE ALL AND SERVE THE
LORD!
Take a look at what she said in chapter 1 verse's 15-17 (And
she "Naomi" said, Behold, thy sister in law is gone
back unto her people, and unto her gods: return thou after thy
sister in law. ver.16 And Ruth said, Entreat me not to leave thee,
or to return from following after thee: for whither thou goest,
I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge:
thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God:
ver.17 Where thou diest, will I die, and there will
I be buried: the LORD do so to me, and more also, if ought but
death part thee and me.)
Friend, THIS IS WHAT PRODUCED SUCH A GREAT BLESSING IN HER
LIFE! THIS IS WHAT MOVED THE HEART OF GOD AND CAUSED HIS FACE TO
SHINE DOWN UPON HER! Somebody Shout Amen.
Look at what Jesus said in Luke 9:23 (And he said to them all,
If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take
up his cross daily, and follow me.) Let's look at Mark
10:29 and 30 (And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you,
There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or
father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake,
and the gospel's, ver.30 But he shall receive an hundredfold
now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and
mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and
in the world to come eternal life.) and 30 (And Jesus
answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that
hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother,
or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel's,
ver.30 But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time,
houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and
lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come
eternal life.)
So we see that in order to have the blessings of God upon our
lives; WE MUST FIRST CHOSE TO PUT HIM FIRST IN OUR LIVES! If You
Believe It Shout Amen. We cannot insist on having things our way,
and putting things before the Lord and His Work, and have His
blessing showered upon us. God Must Be First In Our Lives, and we
must love him above everything else!
In Luke 14:26 & 27 we'll find this is true. (If any man
come to me, and hate not his father, and mother,
and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters,
yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.
ver.27 And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come
after me, cannot be my disciple.) Now the word HATE
used in verse 26 comes from the extension of the Greek word MISEO
which means to "LOVE LESS" and it lets us know that,
unless we Love Jesus above everyone and everything; even our own
selves: WE CAN NOT BE HIS DISCIPLES, AND OUR LIVES WILL
BE VOID OF HIS BLESSINGS!
She
Left, NOT To Go BACK
In chapter 1 and the first part of verse 17 we find Ruth
saying this: WHERE THOU DIEST, WILL I DIE, AND THERE WILL I BE
BURIED! Now here's what Ruth is saying, and has set in her heart
from the very start: WHEN I LEAVE HERE I'M NOT COMING BACK! WHEN
I LEAVE MY OLD LIFE, AND MY OLD GOD'S, AND ALL THE THINGS OF THE
PAST, AND MAKE THE LORD GOD MY GOD, AND HIS PEOPLE MY PEOPLE; I'LL
NOT BE GOING BACK! Raise Your Hands And Praise The Lord Somebody.
Jesus said in Luke 9: 62 (And Jesus said unto him, No man,
having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit
for the kingdom of God.)
In Gal.4: 8 & 9 we read this, (Howbeit then, when ye knew
not God, ye did service unto them which by nature are no gods.
ver.9 But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known
of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements,
whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage?) Then in Gal. 5:1
Paul by the Holy Ghost exhorts every saint of God to; (Stand fast
therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and
be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.)
One thing we must remember is this; A desire in the hearts of
many of the children of Israel in the wilderness to GO BACK TO
EGYPT is what brought the hand of God's wrath upon them. Their
remarks many times was this: would that we were back in egypt,
come on let's go back ! But we must not be as many of them
who's hearts were back in Egypt, we must be as Ruth who say's I'M
NOT GOING BACK! And as Paul who said in Phil.3:13 & 14, (Brethren,
I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting
those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those
things which are before, ver.14 I press toward the mark for the
prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.)
Heb. 11:13-16; (These all died in faith, not having received
the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded
of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were
strangers and pilgrims on the earth. 14 For they that say such
things declare plainly that they seek a country. 15 And truly, if
they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out,
they might have had opportunity to have returned. 16 But
now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore
God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath
prepared for them a city.) Notice: God is not ashamed to be
called their God, BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T HAVE A MIND TO GO BACK!
From
Gleaning To Handful's Of Purpose
In the land of Israel were Ruth has come to live with Naomi,
she goes into the field's to glean with the other women there. As
she is gleaning Boaz the man who owns the field comes and when he
sees Ruth his heart goes out to her, and he ask; Who is this
woman? Some that stood by said, she is Ruth the Moabite. And it
was told him how she had LEFT HER HOME LAND HER FATHER AND MOTHER
AND ALL THAT SHE KNEW IN MOAB to come with Naomi to Israel to
make God's people her people, and to TRUST AND SERVE THE TRUE
GOD!
When Boaz comes to Ruth in the field, and show's her favor;
she doesn't understand why he would show such kindness unto her
seeing that she is a stranger in that land. But he let's her know
why God's favor is upon her life in verses 11 & 12 of chapter
2. Let's take a look at verse 12, (THE LORD RECOMPENSE THY WORK,
AND A FULL REWARD BE GIVEN THEE OF THE LORD GOD OF ISRAEL, UNDER
WHOSE WINGS THOU ART COME TO TRUST!)
There are many examples in the Word Of God of men and women
walking and living in the Tremendous Blessings of God because
they TRUSTED IN THE LORD WITH ALL THEIR HEART! Ps.37: 3 - 5 say's;
(Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in
the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. ver.4 Delight thyself
also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine
heart. ver.5 Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him;
and he shall bring it to pass.) Ps.118: 8 & 9 say's (It is
better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.
ver.9 It is better to trust in the LORD than to put
confidence in princes.) And then we read in Jer.17: 7 & 8, (Blessed
is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the
LORD is. ver.8 For he shall be as a tree planted by the
waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall
not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall
not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from
yielding fruit.)
Boaz say's unto his reapers; Let Ruth Glean Among The Sheaves,
and Reproach Her Not. Look at God's Blessings at work! Then the
next thing we read in verse 16 of chapter 2 is this; (And let
fall also some of the HANDFULS OF PURPOSE FOR HER, and leave them
, that she may glean them, and rebuke her not.) HALLELUJAH, Glory
To God.
HANDFULS OF PURPOSE! Dear saints of God the Blessings of God
upon your life is no MISTAKE; GOD MEANT TO BLESS YOU! He will
cause HANDFULS OF PURPOSE to fall in your life as you PUT HIM
FIRST, and live your lives to PLEASE HIM, and put the needs of
others before your own.
Duet.28:1 & 2 (And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt
hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe
and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day,
that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of
the earth: ver.2 And all these blessings shall come on thee,
and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of
the LORD thy God.) Friend, GOD'S WORD IS TRUE! And you can rest
assured that, IF YOU MEET THE REQUIREMENTS, GOD WILL
MEET YOUR REQUESTS!
You see, your Trust In God is acknowledged when His Wants, His
Desires, His Will becomes yours also! It is not enough to say: I
TRUST THE LORD. We must live I TRUST THE LORD!
BOAZ
MARRIES RUTH!
Now I want you to know that, HANDFULS OF PURPOSE is not all
that God has in store for you as you LIVE FOR HIM FAITHFULLY!
From the time that Ruth left Moab to Make the True God her God,
and to TRUST IN HIM, the Lord had something far greater in store
for her. Something that at that time was beyond her thoughts. Eph.3:
20, (Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above
all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in
us.)
The next thing we see, BOAZ IS TAKING RUTH TO BE HIS WIFE! Now
I know that there is a lot that could be brought out about Boaz
her KINSMEN REDEEMER, and all the things that lead up to this
point, but with limited space in the newsletter I will deal only
with the main thought. " For the full message send for a
cassette copy" First we see Ruth GLEANING IN THE FIELDS.
Then we see her ALLOWED TO GLEAN AMONG THE SHEAVES. And then
HANDFULS OF PURPOSE are being left for her as she is gleaning in
the fields. And now SHE'S MARRYING THE MAN WHO OWNS THE FIELD!
Someone Shout Praise The Lord.
What does that make her? All that belongs to Boaz, belongs to
her! What ever Boaz owns is also hers to make use of. Think about
it. As a CHILD OF GOD this is what God has purposed for you. Rom.8:16
- 18 (The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we
are the children of God: ver.17 And if children, then heirs;
heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be
that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
ver.18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are
not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed
in us.) Mat.25: 34 (Then shall the King say unto them on his
right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom
prepared for you from the foundation of the world:) Rev.21: 7
(He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will
be his God, and he shall be my son.) Put and Keep God first in
your life, what he has purposed for you is OUT OF THIS WORLD!
