The
Thief !
I want to read a verse of scripture,
found in John 10:10. Lets look at it together. (The thief
cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to
destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that
they might have it more abundantly.)
THERE
IS A THIEF
Now even Jesus acknowledged the reality of the THIEF.
You see, Jesus knew satan for what he was; and this is why He
made it known to those He ministered to. He would have us to know,
that, THERE IS A THIEF!
From the time that satan got lifted up in pride, and made
rebellion against God with 1/3 of the angles and tried without
any hope to take by force the throne of God for himself, and
to make himself higher then the Most High, then when the
Heavenly Father said to Jesus, and the Holy Ghost let us make man
in our own image and likeness, and give him dominion over all the
works of our hands, satan who had already been cast out of heaven
with 1/3 of the angles which followed him, for their HOPELESS
effort to take over the Kingdom of God, comes into the garden to
take from man by any means that he can, that which God had given
unto man. And friend of mine, HE'S STILL DOING THE VERY SAME
THING TODAY. This is why Jesus exposed satan for what he is. A
THIEF!
THIEVES
TAKE VALUABLES
How many have ever had the devil tell you that what you
have really isn't worth anything? Some he has even been able
to convince that they really don't have anything that's worth
holding onto. But how many know, that when a THIEF breaks into a
place, HE DOESN'T RAID THE TRASH CAN! No, he doesn't
search for your trash bin, and steal your trash!
When a THIEF makes his way into a place, HE SEARCHES FOR
THE VALUABLES! Someone Shout Amen. The THIEF is looking for things
that are worth something. And I've come to tell you, that, WHAT
YOU HAVE RECEIVED FOR GOD IS VALUABLE, AND WORTH HOLDING
ONTO!
So the next time satan tries to make you believe that what you
have isn't worth anything, let him know that your not going to
fall for that lie again, because if what I have isn't worth
anything, then why are you trying to steal it away?
You see, we need to understand, the reason why satan tries to
get us to believe that, is, if he can make us believe that what
we have isn't worth anything, then he knows that we won't
safeguard it, to keep him from stealing it away.
When a person holds a thing to be Valuable in their lives,
then they take extra measures to keep it safe. But
things that are not held to be very important in our lives, are
just left unattended. AND THINGS LEFT UNATTENDED ARE THE
EASIEST THINGS TO STEAL! Let me inject this: We are living
in an hour when children are not held to be very valuable by many
parents, because many just let their children run the streets
UNATTENDED, THEY JUST DON'T HAVE TIME TO BE BOTHERED
WITH THEM! And then there are those who leave their
children unattended to be baby-sitted by their T.V. sets, all
because they have careers to think about, and now they just can't
understand why little Johnny, or little Sally is so mean, rotten,
and rebellious!
Hear me: VALUABLE THINGS ARE SAFEGUARDED! And it's
only when we realize the value of a thing, that we begin
to take measures to keep it safe.
KEEPING
THE THIEF OUT
While I was in Zimbabwe, Africa I saw something there, that
God used to inspire me with this very message. In our travels
there in Zimbabwe I noticed walls that were built around
different places of business; factories and such like. And
especially around all of the rich and finer homes there. The
height of these walls were about 8 or 9 feet high, some maybe
higher. But what really caught my attention was, all around the
tops of these walls they had jagged pieces of glass embedded in
them, and some had sharp pointed rods all along the tops of them.
These walls with jagged pieces of glass all along the top were
built to discourage the entrance of THIEVES! THERE WERE
VALUABLES INSIDE THOSE WALLS, THAT THEY WANTED TO KEEP
SAFE!
Then I noticed, that, not only had they took PREVENTIVE
MEASURES to keep thieves out by building those walls, but some
had went a step further to keep them out. Some had watch
dogs also inside the walls. And then I noticed there were those
who went a step further to keep the thieves out; they also
had Security Guards to help keep the Valuables safe.
Look with me at 2 Pet 1:5-10 ( And beside this, giving all
diligence, ADD to your faith virtue; and to virtue
knowledge; ver.6 And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance
patience; and to patience godliness; ver.7 And to godliness
brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. ver.8 For
if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye
shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our
Lord Jesus Christ. ver.9 But he that lacketh these things is
blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was
purged from his old sins. ver.10 Wherefore the rather, brethren,
give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if
ye do these things, ye shall never fall:) You see, the
more VALUABLE things are to you, the more things you will ADD
to keep those VALUABLES safe from the THIEF. HOW BAD DO
YOU WANT TO KEEP THE THINGS GOD HAS GIVEN YOU?
One of Paul's greatest exhortations to the church was: HOLD
FAST TO THAT WHICH IS GOOD! His charge to Bro. Timothy in 1
Tim 6:20 was (O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy
trust,) And then in 2 Tim. 1:14 he tells him how to keep it.
(That good thing which was committed unto thee keep by the
Holy Ghost which dwelleth in us.) God has given us the means
whereby to keep the GOOD THINGS which He has committed
unto us.
The more Valuable things are, the more Preventive
Measures are taken to keep them safe FROM THE THIEF!
LET
THERE BE LIGHT
There are some things that thieves hate. And probably the
thing which thieves hate the most is LIGHT! John 3:19-21
says, (And this is the condemnation, that light is come into
the world, and men loved darkness rather than light,
because their deeds were evil. ver.20 For every one that doeth
evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his
deeds should be reproved. ver.21 But he that doeth truth cometh
to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are
wrought in God.) Because LIGHT is one of the greatest
Preventive Measures that can be used to deter the activities of
thieves. Thieves love the dark! In DARKNESS the
thief's activities go undetected. But LIGHT EXPOSES THE
ACTIVITIES OF THE THIEF! Friend of mine, THE WORD OF GOD
IS ONE OF OUR GREATEST SAFE-GUARDS AGAINST THE THIEF! David
declares in Psa 119:105 ( Thy word is a lamp unto my feet,
and a light unto my path.) THE WORD OF GOD IS LIGHT!
Paul lets us know in 2 Cor 2:11 (Lest Satan should get an
advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.)
Satan, the Thief works overtime in the lives of those who are
ignorant of God's Word. Jesus said, The Thief cometh not but
for to steal, kill, and destroy. Look at Hosea 4:6 with me for a
moment, ( My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge:
because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee,
that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten
the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.) Church, GOD
IS CALLING US BACK TO HIS WORD! It's the ANOINTED WORD OF
GOD that keeps us aware of the thief's activities. And if we
are aware of his activities, then he can't carry out his evil
purpose in our lives. For it's God's Word that tells us in Mat 24:43
(But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known
in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched,
and would not have suffered his house to be broken up.)
I'm sure that you have noticed what bank's, store's, and
businesses are doing as a Preventive Measures to keep thieves
away: THEY LEAVE THEIR LIGHTS ON AT NIGHT! But even this
doesn't stop the evil efforts of a DETERMINE THIEF. It has
gotten so bad in this hour that we are living in, that their even
thieving and stealing in the day light!
Purse Snatching is a big problem in all town's and cities.
Most women know better then to carry their purses loosely by
their sides, those that do might as well put a sign on it saying:
HERE'S A PURSE FOR THE TAKING! Those who consider the
things in their purse Valuable, hold on tight to it, and keep
it held close to them. They don't want to lose what they
have.
Satan the thief is determine to take from you the Valuables
which you have, so we must take every step that God's word tell's
us, to keep all that God has given unto us.
GOD
RESTORES, BUT TO KEEP IT IS BETTER
I have noticed that we, "the ministry" have been
spending a great deal of time and energy to put back together,
fixing back up, and cleaning up the wreck which many
lives are in, all because they did not take the necessary
measures given in God's Word to keep the Thief out. And friend,
once he works his way in, HE'S GOING TO LEAVE YOUR LIFE TORN
ALL TO PIECES! Jesus did not warn us about the thief for us
just to deal with the After Effects of a life that's been
vandalized by the thief, He warns us so that we might be on
the guard for the thief, and avoid being vandalized by him.
I want to say to you who are in need of Restoration; those who's
lives have been vandalized by the thief: look to the Lord for
your help, for our God is THE GOD OF RESTORATION! God's
promise to those who turn back to him for help is a promise of Restoration.
Look at Joel 2:25-27 with me, ( And I will restore to you
the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the
caterpillar, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among
you. ver.26 And ye shall eat in plenty, and be satisfied, and
praise the name of the LORD your God, that hath dealt wondrously
with you: and my people shall never be ashamed. ver.27 And ye
shall know that I am in the midst of Israel, and that I am the
LORD your God, and none else: and my people shall never be
ashamed.) Well Glory To God.
You see, God's people could have avoided a lot of grief
stricken years, and wrecked wasted years if only they had safe-guarded
the things God had given them, instead of letting them be
taken away, and dealing with the After Effects of a vandalized
life.
THAT
ALARMS GOING OFF FOR A REASON
In closing I want you to see how very important it is for you
to take heed to the sound of the Alarm. IT'S A DANGEROUS THING
TO IGNORE AN ALARM! Alarms are installed to DETECT and
WARN. And to ignore an alarms warning could very well
cost you your life!
Probably most of you reading this message, have Smoke
Detectors installed in your homes. You didn't put them in your
home as decorations, you had them put there to DETECT and WARN
YOU if your house should ever catch fire. What a foolish
thing it would be, if one night while you and your family were
sleeping well, that the Smoke Detectors began to sound their
Alarm, and instead of getting up and finding out the reason for
the Alarm you just called out to your family and said: NO NEED
TO BE ALARMED, EVERYONE LAY BACK DOWN AND GO BACK TO SLEEP;
IT'S PROBABLY JUST A FALSE ALARM! How FOOLISH and
DANGEROUS that would be.
When an Alarm goes off the wise and safe thing to do, is to, take
the time to find out the reason that Alarm is sounding off. THAT
ALARMS SOUNDING OFF FOR A REASON!
Have you ever wondered; why it is that true ministers of the
gospel seem to be so set on STARTLING and SHAKING people up
with the URGENCY OF THEIR PREACHING? It's because we are
who God has choose to sound forth a WARNING to this Last Day
Generation of the soon coming Wrath and Judgement of God upon the
wicked and ungodly. And also to sound forth an Alarm to God's
people of the THIEF, and his evil proposes.
In Joel 2:1-2 God charged the prophet to; ( Blow ye the
trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy
mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the
day of the LORD cometh, for it is nigh at hand; ver.2
A day of darkness and of gloominess, a day of clouds and of thick
darkness, as the morning spread upon the mountains: a great
people and a strong; there hath not been ever the like,
neither shall be any more after it, even to the years of many
generations.) Even as an Alarm DETECTS and WARNS those who
are unaware of unseen dangers, so that they will have the chance
to escape harm and be safe. Even so has God set in the midst of
this EVIL and PERVERSE generation, ALARMS of WARNING which are
sounding forth an URGENT WARNING to Startle and Awake out of
sleep those who are unaware of the serious hour we are living in,
that they may have the chance to escape the Wrath of God by
taking heed to the sounding of God's Alarm Systems. And then REPENTING
of their Wicked and Ungodly ways, and receiving Jesus as their
Lord and Saviour; so that they can be safe.
BECAUSE FRIEND, THE ALARMS ARE GOING OFF FOR A REASON!
