Our 40 gallon is now home to a pink skunk clown, a pink floppy tail dottyback who enjoys harrassing the other fish sometimes, our 2 pajama cardinals and the beautiful purple firefish.
In the 40 we have some nice corals, a nice brown cynarina, a large green bubble and will soon house a green scoly that used to sit in the 12 gallon.
The tank is nicely rounded out with some softies: a frag of a kenya tree, a big blue ricordea rock, an orange ricordea rock and a brown yuma rock.
But the pride of the tank is the beautiful purple-blue crocea clam. It's about 3 inches long.
Wow, it's been a long time since I updated this page. We let our 40 gallon go for a long time after John got laid off in 2007 and we never did anything about getting it back up until February 2009 when John cleaned out all the hair algae and we started the cycle all over.
It's now April 11 and we added a cleaner shrimp, 2 nasarrius snails, 4 turbo snails, 3 astrea snails and 3 red legged hermit crabs. They're in there with the beautiful flagfin angel that we added a week ago. We plan on slowly adding a purple firefish, a yellow tang, a sand sifting goby and the evil barred blenny from our 28 gallon.
We finally found out why we have not been able to keep any gobies alive in our 28 gallon when we added a dragon goby a few months ago and we saw the barred blenny chase and bite the poor thing even though the dragon goby was double its size. Dumb blenny! So, because the 40 is a lot bigger we're going to add the barred blenny to it as the last fish. I'm sure the yellow tang will keep it in line.
