From the rooftops you can see the heart of the city, bare but for the veil of your own eyes...
This is a page devoted to interesting titbits of information from the series, unusual facts behind it, and other things that the average viewer may miss, as well as rhetorical questions I’ve asked myself about the show. Unlike my Character Sketches or Episode Descriptions, however, this page will not contain major spoilers. I hope; I've seen all the shows so much, I might forget what is considered a "spoiler," so correct me if anything turns up. Anyone that has anything that fits underneath these broad categories is welcome to send it; in fact, the more people we have contributing to this page the better it should turn out. Mail
me with anything interesting related to the show, and I’ll include everything sent in with full credit, although duplicate information will only be credited to those that send it before it is put up, for sanity’s sake.
Adrian means "dark," and Lucas - a variation on Luke - means "light." I’ve mentioned this in their individual character sketches, but it’s so good I’ve got to point it out again. It shows that the original writers of the comic books put some thought into this, and goes with Lucas and CyberSix’s relationship perfectly.
CyberSix's vulnerability is shown through her left arm; in the first and last episodes, it "shorts out," signifying she needs more sustenance. In Brainwashed, it's the arm that gets nicked. And in Daylight Devil, it's the arm she has to tape up because it hurts. As a counterpoint, in the final episode when the creatures in Von Richter's lab "lend" her sustenance (Or so I see it.), it shows in her right arm, since she is gaining strength. I very much doubt that this all is a coincidence. It does make me wonder, however, if CyberSix is right handed or left handed; it may not be a big deal, but with this symbolism in the sides it might make a difference.
A second note on CyberSix's vulnerability: Whenever she's in real danger, her hat falls off. This is often done subtly, but it is a good symbol, because the hat acts as a sort of mask, and losing it means she loses some of her "armor" - her costume - one of the things that distinguishes her from Adrian. The hat is often also used to show weakness, such as a scene from Fullmoon Facination when it is crushed under the foot of an enemy.
Have you ever noticed that EVERY SINGLE CHARACTER has hair falling in front of their faces, with the exception of Lucas? I mean, every main character except him and most of the background ones have this style, no matter what the rest of their hair looks like. Even that angel statue that shows up in most of the episodes! WHAT is up with that?!? o_O
There are male Fixed Ideas and female Fixed Ideas, the latter mainly dressed in maid outfits and performing similar tasks. My question is: is there a, um, SPECIFIC reason for this? I mean, did Von Richter do this so he didn’t have to make new Fixed Ideas? Are they, um, self-replicating? Oh, the mind boggles! o_O
