William Chambers Pension Application & Service Record Montgomery Co, GA

The following is William Chambers CSA Information,
Montgomery County, Georgia:

I also received the Compiled Confederate Service Records of William Chambers (wife Isabelle Jane Garrett Chambers): The order was taken by Charlotte Ray (retrieval/Refile Information number is 257/95.) and the following was mentioned:
"We checked the index to the Complied Service Records of Confederate Soldiers in Organizations from the State of Georgia,
and found the following possibility-

William Chambers, private, Company H, 57th Regiment Georgia Volunteer Infantry.(Page 1015 of Vol V. of the Roster of the Confederate Soldiers of Georgia, 1861-1865, is Company K, 57th Regiment Georgia Infantry, not the 5th Regiment. We have not found a service record for a man listed in Company K, 57th, but we did find the man listed above in Company H, 57th.
