There are MANY point of service computer (programs) out there. We suggest you research it carefully, and ask yourself these questions:
1. Is it user friendly? (can one make special orders without too many entries? Can the wait staff make simple adjustments for mistakes OR does it require management?)
2. Touch Screen?
3. How many different types of reports can you pull up? How detailed are the reports? Is it easy to read and enter?
4. Does it accept credit card/debit, house and gift certificate transactions?
5. In case of crashing, is there a simple back up system? Does it save information up to last entry? Is it a cold or hot reboot? (Make sure you have some guest checks handy in case this happens, or during the rebooting, as THIS only happens during the rush! Haha)
6. Customer service & warranty includes what and when and how much $$ ? 24 hours a day help?
7. Specialized paper for the system that needs to be shipped, or paper that can EASILY be purchased at an Office Supply store?
8. What does training include and who is it for??
9. Is there a simple cheat sheet for entries? Is there a troubleshooting booklet?
10. Does it accept Credit Card/ATM transactions within the system, or would that be a seperate piece of machinery? see Credit Cards.
