Don't be walking around in a maze with TOO MANY computer programs.  Your program for running your business should be user friendly.  Even if you have a point of service computer for your staff, and can pull up numerous reports that way, OR even if you don't, unless you like manually doing book keeping, a computer program is essential.
You should carefully research this aspect based on your computer knowledge, and perhaps get a program that handles these types of reports:
1.  Checking/Savings
2.  Profit & Loss (print out and in graph form)
3.  Simple entry of expenses, that can be set up in catagories, so when you do print out your graph you can see percentages.  ie. food, beverage, utilities, wages, taxes, etc
4.  Simple entry of income, set up in catagories for graphy presentation of percentages, ie food sales, beverage sales, misc. sales, etc.

Another program you may want to get relatively inexpensive as well would be a mailing addressing program.  Make sure that it can print up labels for your envelopes.

A simple publisher program would be great for quickly designed fliers you may need.  All Windows programs come with a simple word processor for quickly typed letters.  You can usually find it at:
