THE COLLECTION September 27, 1976
- In this episode Alicia's puppy dies and the fake rev. tells Mr. Oleson
to give her one of his dog puppies because the dogs expecting. When did
the Oleson's get a dog let alone a pregnant one?!
Contributed by Bob D, August 7, 1997.
- I thought it was neat that the fake rev. (Johnny Cash) found every
excuse to sing a song. Four songs in a one hour show with commericals does
push the limits.
Contributed by Barbie S, Sept 18, 1997.

I'LL RIDE THE WIND October 4, 1976
- Mary wears a plastic headband in this episode, and others. In later
episodes, she wears two plastic haircombs. Is it possible plastic hairgoods
were sold at Oleson's Mercantile?
Contributed by Mr. & Mrs. J. Pochop, October
12, 1997.
- Why is it that Laura never
appears in this episode except with her back turned in church? Is that
really her? Do you think they meant the episode for Laura and ended up
giving it to Mary for some reason?

THE RACE October 4, 1976
- Nellie crys because she no longer has Bunny, and wants her mother to
get her a new horse. When did Nels give the horse back to Laura? (I think
this and the next episode were (and still are on some channels) played
out of order.)
Contributed by Alex Trenta, April 26, 1997.
- Laura gets Bunny back from Nellie shortly after Nellie's spill (after
she hit a tree, likely in the spring after Laura traded Bunny in for the
new cookstove) and subsequent (temporary) parapeligia. Nels tells Nellie
in no uncertain terms that she is not suitable to have a horse like Bunny
and makes Nellie give Bunny back to Laura.
Contributed by Agent 5304, July 31, 1997.
- When the parents found out that Mary did Laura's homework, Charles
was all ready to punish Laura. When Mary admitted Laura did not know about
it, I don't think she got in trouble, they said they understood. Another
example of the different rules they have for Mary.
Contributed by Raven, July 24, 1997.
- Laura took Bunny back when Nellie fell off Bunny and feigned her paralysis.
(but nobody knew it at the time) Mrs Oleson wanted the horse destroyed
and Laura ran out of the room yelling no. Mary followed Laura out
to the barn where Laura was mounting on Bunny and took off. Nobody
knew where Bunny went. Later in the episode Mrs Oleson found Laura
in the Ingalls' barn with Bunny. Mrs Oleson wanted Laura to give
Bunny over and again Laura mounts Bunny and takes off to town to convince
Nellie to tell Mrs Oleson not to destroy Bunny, that's when Laura finds
Nellie dancing in the living room. Laura then knocks on the door
and Nellie scrambles for the wheelchair and Laura takes Nellie outside
to the riverbank by the mill and pushes the chair down the bank with Mrs.
Oleson watching. Mrs Oleson faints and at the very end Nels
tells Laura "Nellie has done some mean things but this is one of the
worst" and then he tells Laura "Take your horse home". Gotta
admit.. Bunny did a lot of running in this episode... :)

BUNNY October 18, 1976
- These episodes (The Race and Bunny), as ordered by their
original broadcast date, give the story out of order. CHRISTMAS
AT PLUM CREEK has Laura selling her horse (Bunny) to Nellie so
she could buy Ma a new stove. In the THE RACE we
have Nellie crying because her father gave Bunny back to Laura. In this
episode, Nellie owns Bunny again and at the end, Nellie's father gives
it back to Laura. I think these two episodes should be reversed so that
the Bunny story makes sense. When you watch Little House as reruns
on some channels, they still play these two episodes out of order.

52. JOURNEY IN THE SPRING (Part Two) November

- Has anyone ever noticed that the guy who plays Charles' brother (whose
name just now slips my mind) is the same guy who went on to play Ambasador
Spock's father in the STAR TREK series?
Contributed by Agent 5304, July 31, 1997.
- In This episode Charles's sister in-law, (Hersha Paraday) plays Eliza
Anne. Who later plays Alice Garvey?!
Asked by Bob D, August 14, 1997.
- On the Timeline,
you list Michael Landon's character as "Frederick Charles Ingalls,"
yet in this episode he writes a letter to his parents and signs his name
as "Charles Phillip Ingalls." Does the show give both names?
Contributed by Steve C, October 10, 1997.
- Answer: In response to Steve G, I think that
his name really was Charles Phillip Ingalls. His son (the one that died
as a baby) was Frederick Charles Ingalls (or was it Charles Frederick Ingalls?).
I'm am not one hundred percent sure, though.

green.

- I just always thought it
was weird that Nellie didn't want to be Jo. After all, Jo is the main character
of Little Women.

- If Charles knows that the horse that kicked Mary was "skittish",
why did he allow her to take the horse into the barn, or why didn't he
keep a closer eye on Jack?

THE WISDOM OF SOLOMON March 7, 1977
- Solomon mentions many interesting ideas to think about. Such as, if
it was the late 1800's, would you like to be black and live to 100, or
white and live to be 50.

THE ELECTION March 21, 1977
- SECOND SPRING implies that Nels
Olsen does the cooking in his home, yet Harriet states that she has to
check the roast in this episode. It could be that she is doing this special
meal for some reason, but in SECOND SPRING
she can definatly not cook.
Contributed by Alex Trenta, April 26, 1997.
- It's interesting that when the votes are counted at the end, Nellie
and Elmer are tied at 12 votes each. But when Willie's tie-breaking vote
for Elmer is announced, it seems the entire class celebrates. What happened
to Nellie's 12 supporters?

GOLD COUNTRY April 4, 1977 (Two hour episode)
- When Charles comes back
from that old miner's house and has seen that the old miner committed suicide
by burning himself alive (after Laura had innocently blabbed the story
of how he had buried his wife under all the ore he had mined under the
creek and one classmate's unscrupulous father desecrates the woman's grave
under the creek to get the gold), he tells Laura that he had had a long
talk with the miner and the miner understood that Laura wasn't to blame
but then he quickly tells Caroline the truth and implores her NOT to tell
Laura what happened so she won't be overwhelmed by the guilt! If Charles
wouldn't tell Laura the miner's real fate, then are we to suppose that
Caroline eventually did (which is WHY she would know eventually know about
it for 'the books') , if so *why* would Caroline burden Laura with this
information that would serve her no good purpose to kno? It would seem
an unnecesarily cruel thing to do to her daughter- considering they were
leaving the gold rush area immediately and she'd have NO interaction with
anyone else from that area!
