Teaching EFL, ESL Games and activities for the children's classroom: Taiwan Teacher - the EFL site that exceeds your needs!

Hi, welcome to my games for children page. It's an archive of great games that you can use in your children's language learning classes. They are all free for the taking so help yourself. All I ask is that you leave a new game behind you when you go.

It's been my experience that no matter how many games you know, they all become stale after awhile. Rather than individual teachers having to always be thinking up new games they only have to come here to get a new idea. So send in all those games that work so well in your classroom and share them with your colleagues.

You can either email me at taiteach.geo@yahoo.com or use the form provided, whichever is more convienent. While you are here don't forget to check out the other games pages on my links page.

Playing Games in the EFL Classroom.

These are my thoughts and experiences on how to get the most milage from games in children's EFL, ESL classes. The ideas in this article are based on my five years of teaching English to children here in Taiwan.

Any comments you may have on the ideas contained in this article, either pro or con, are most welcome. I'm always looking for ways to improve my own teaching techniques. To contact me you can use the form below or email me at dougal@ms15.hinet.net, whichever you find the most convenient.

Non-Competitive Games in the Classroom!

An article on the value of non-competitive games in the classroom by Chris Hunt, an EFL teacher in Japan. There are also a couple of interesting games/activities at the end of the work.

Play your cards right: card games for language learning.

A number of very interesting card games submitted by the Young Learners web site, an IATEFL Special Interest Group. Although this is not really an article, I'm posting it here in it's entirety as it seems a pity to break it up into it's component parts.
